About Phillip Gamble, Chiropractor

St Charles chiropractor Dr. Gamble is a board certified and licensed Chiropractic Physician, educated by National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Lombard, Illinois. In addition to the over 4,400 hours of classroom lectures and clinical experience required for the Doctor of Chiropractic degree, he has actively sought out additional education to learn new techniques and skills to help his patients. He focuses on pain relief care with an emphasis on keeping people active and doing what they love and need to do. His specialized training includes acupuncture, McKenzie Method, Kinesio Taping, Titleist Performance Institute certification, Motion Palpation and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation. While each of these therapies are distinct, with their own strengths, they all have one common goal: to achieve and maintain active daily living. Whether you are training for a race or rushing to pick up the kids and get them to soccer practice, he'll work to help you run your marathon, whatever it may be.

What is his background?

Dr. Gamble was born in Bellevue, WA and has since lived in California, Washington (again) and Texas. All said and done, he lived in 4 states and 10 cities before finding home in St. Charles, Illinois. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, he moved to Lombard to get his Doctor of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences. In addition to his clinical internship with the school, Dr. Gamble has worked as a clinical assistant for Dr. Grant Iannelli, DC where he continued to learn and expand his skills. He has traveled beyond U.S. borders to the island of Ometepe, Nicaragua where he worked at the Natural Doctors International clinic, which was the main source of health care for the small island. Most recently, Dr. Gamble did his part to care for the community of Lisle, Illinois as an associate doctor of a chiropractic center that has been established for over 24 years. He is currently one of two chiropractors at White Oak Family Wellness in St. Charles.

Why did he become a Chiropractor?

At a young age, my parents always knew I would be a doctor. I was the kid who never got grossed out by anything and was front row, center, watching very intently every time anyone in my family needed any kind of medical procedure. If someone needed stitches, I was there. "Need to get some fluid drained? Take me." "You need a blood test? I better go with you." This went on for much of my childhood, as my parents have reminded me many times. It took two of my brothers getting into a car accident to bring me to chiropractic. After the accident, they suffered from neck and low back pain and it was suggested that they visit a chiropractor for their injuries. Once it worked for them, my dad, who had been told he would need back surgery within 6 months, decided he had to try chiropractic before having surgery. After a few visits, he was completely pain free and over 15 years later he has never needed that surgery. Shortly after, my mom started working for that chiropractor and now I was front row, center, watching every adjustment I could. "Going to the chiropractor? I better go with you."
